Growing Through Change

Hello my friend,

It has been exactly 3 months since my last blog.

Towards the end of the year, it became extremely challenging to keep up with the weekly blogs and as my business grew and the demands on my time became even more pressing. I found myself stretched way out of my comfort zone in the growth zone and struggled to keep up.

As I reflected this morning on my last blog, where I wrote about getting who you are, not what you want, I realize that what I got the last quarter of 2018, was a direct manifestation of who I had become. I had grown so much that who I was becoming could no longer fit into my reality at the time and I had to make adjustments.

Paul Martinelli, the President of the John Maxwell Team, puts it this way, “Your dream will not fit into your current reality,” or as I heard another well known motivational speaker say “You need to let go of who you are to become who you aspire to be.”

One of the things I am learning on this journey of growth is you need to give up to go up, good is often the enemy of best and you have to be prepared to constantly make adjustments to trade up on the journey.

While I may have gone quiet on the blog, I can truly say the stretch in the last quarter of 2018 brought my team our best returns for the year. We did work we did not even consider at the beginning of 2018, added an additional skill set to our team, provided income generating opportunities to a few extra people and met all our deadlines.

One of my coaching clients made a life changing decision to take up an opportunity for employment overseas, which was a huge shift out of her comfort zone.  A student at Dilkusha Home who I have been working with was awarded the Aspiring Leadership Award which is usually only given to the Head Girl and Head Boy but she was singled out for her display of exemplary leadership at school.  Another student that we had been supporting throughout the year from the Home achieved the highest marks in FEYE and is now enrolled at Adi Cakobau School, which is a first for any child from the Home.

These results prove to me that personal development and growth works wonders when one is committed to the journey.

I am learning that while change is inevitable, the growth is in being open and willing to adapt quickly to the ebbs and flows of life and business and growth, while not losing sight of a commitment to become the best version of you so you can continue to serve those who come your way.

How are you doing my friend? What is your commitment to growth this year? Where do you seek to see tangible results? What are you doing daily to help you get there?

My wish for you in 2019 is that you become the best version of you and you impact lives around you like never before.

Until the next blog, keep growing and God Bless You. Please note that due to a heavy travel schedule the first quarter of 2019, the blogs may be sporadic and the Personal Development and Leadership Masterminds will be on offer later in the year.

Warmly,

Ana
